Christmas

By Lindsay Wakeman

It is hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner! With that being said, I decided I had no choice but to write a blog about my favorite Christmas decor ideas. There are so many areas that can be decorated for Christmas, I love seeing homes transform with the Christmas spirit! My favorite area to decorate is the mantle, I adore Christmas mantles because they give off a warmth (literally and figuratively) throughout the room. I have seen some beautiful mantles, and I personally love using greenery with cream and silver accents and a few hints of red. If you need help with your mantle decor, Pinterest always has lots of creative and fun ideas.

Slip covers are another way to transform your home. If the furniture you have does not look “Christmas-like”, you can use a slip cover. They can give you a blank slate to work with, especially white covers. I love the way a white slip cover looks with Christmas decorations, it makes me feel like I am living in a winter wonderland! The lighter grays and creams blend nicely with any color you choose, so I would recommend going with a lighter color slip cover if you go this route. In the image below, you can see how beautiful the green and red look with the white interior. You can also always change out your pillows depending on the season, I talked about this in my fall post. I love a good Christmas toss pillow, you can see some of my favorites below!

Lastly, just have fun with your decorations! There are so many creative minds out there; I have seen a lot of unique ideas when it comes to Christmas decor. If you don’t consider yourself to be creative, don’t worry because we have the gift of Pinterest! As you can see in the image below, they incorporated foliage letters into this space which is a unique twist on foliage. I just adore this beautiful traditional living room; the space looks so classy and timeless to me. Have fun decorating your space this year and Merry (early) Christmas!
